Summer time, 29/08/10

Diary entry No. 145

Wow, last time I wrote an update here in the diary it was the beginning of June and now it's nearly September! Where did the summer go I wonder... not that we get too much of a sunny summer here in good old Blighty anyway! But the After Hours team sure had fun when the sun did shine - Episode 11 proves it - and we've got a few more outdoor scenes scheduled for production next month before the winter arrives ;-)

So, what else has happened? Well, we've changed the layout and design of the homepage a little and introduced our "Classics of the week" section. The idea behind it is pretty simple really - if you're visiting us for the first time it can be a little daunting looking through 540 films so we thought we'd make it easier to find some of them. Hope you like the choices I'll be making...

Finally, we're moving house at last! We've simply out-grown our current one and hopefully I'll get the keys to the new 6 bedroom pad sometime in October. While I'm excited about having so much space I'm actually dreading the move itself - and buying a house is a nightmare at the best of times. Needless to say I'm going to need a holiday... thankfully that's already booked for November!

The last seven days have been totally nuts around here! First I hurriedly made sure that Brez W made his shoot appointment with us last Sunday and damn, he sure put a smile on my face :-) Next up, on Tuesday we had another straight newbie arrive for a solo and man, that guy was cute as fuck too! Meanwhile I had been persuading Brez W to go further and so he came back to make another film on Wednesday... and another on Thursday ;-)

As if that wasn't enough straight meat for me to handle in one week, yet another hetero guy duly arrived on Friday to do a solo (what's wrong with these straight boys - were they all waiting for the same bus or something?) Anyway, with the sun beating down I just had to make the most of it and took the young stud out on the boat for the wank of his life!

After Hours... members only, 03/05/10

Diary entry No. 143

Do you ever have one of those weeks that goes past so fast  that you're not really sure if it all actually happened? Well, I just had one! The first 3 days were a truly mad dash to get my boat anti-fouled, engines serviced, propellers replaced (don't ask!) hull polished and re-launched in to the sea and by which point, I felt myself coming down with a flu-like virus that wiped out all my remaining energy!

But I still had to try and meet the deadline of getting our new "After Hours" series of films launched... so Thursday and Friday were spent in endless phone calls and email exchanges with my web developers trying to get it all put together. We just about succeeded but we had a few a glitches with the public versions so at 5:15pm on Friday we decided to only launch the series in the member's area ;-(

Don't worry though - next week we'll finish up the public version of the site so you can see how it all works - but the first film has gone down a treat with the members ;-) Want to see a preview of the first film the member's are enjoying? Sad news... and great news, 26/04/10

Diary entry No. 142

Right, well, there's some sad news to be shared so here goes... I want to express my sincere condolences to Nick (who runs another British site) whose co-producer and model (Kev Adamson) died the other week. While it's not appropriate for me to go in to the details of his death, Kev's warm personality will live on in the films he's made over the last 5 years and I wish him peace in heaven. Kev was loved by many of the models that worked both here at BM and over there and he will be sorely missed.

As for me, well, it's been a crazy old time of late. I recently visited Phoenix for an adult webmasters convention and I've got plenty to tell (and show!) about that trip. Trouble is, I've been crazily busy since my return on getting BLAKEMASON - "After Hours" ready to launch so I've not had the time to write a diary post with all the details - but it's on my to-do list so please be patient!

Oh, did I just hear a click in your brains - After Hours - what's that all about? Well, we're going to be mixing things up a little from this week onwards - Wednesday's will become the solo release day, Friday's will be the "After Hours" release day and Sunday's will stay the same and see the release of two amateur British guys having totally natural and uninhibited man-sex together as usual! It's pretty simple really - but as far as I know it's not being done anywhere else on the web (to my knowledge at least!). Just a quick ramble, 21/02/10

First off, it's that time of year again when horrible colds are doing the rounds and yep, I went down with a stinker of one this week. Of course, being a man I just felt sorry for myself, shuffled around the house in my dressing gown and took plenty of naps... and I'm actually a bit better already! I did get lots of sympathy from the 6 guys who came down to film though - newbies and old friends alike ;-)

It's been a very odd week. Nothing seemed to go to plan and by the time we finished filming yesterday afternoon both Shayne and I were totally exhausted! But I thought I'd share some of the gritty details with you so here goes...

Monday we had booked in a duo with two of recent newbies and after a certain amount of train problems both guys arrived. Happy 2010, 18/01/10

Happy 2010! I know this is coming a little late in the day but I just thought it right to wish you all a happy, prosperous, healthy and safe New Year :-) Just so you know, I kind of got caught up in my race to finish all of the Flash streaming video options but I'm relieved to say I finished all the films on New Years day. Yep - no more waiting for a film to buffer or download - you can skip straight to where you want to get - and if you like it you can download it and keep the film forever - no limitations!

But that's not all! For those of you members who view and participate in the member's forum you'll be glad to hear that editing PC No.2 is all fixed... and a new super PC (editing machine No.3) is now installed and running just sweet! Natural horny man-sex is just fine and the action just gets better and better, right? I mean, have you seen just how much spunk flew out of Bradley's cock today?

Sadly, many other "adult" sites failed to notice that holidays are a time for you at home to enjoy yourselves. Well, it’s been crazy here in the very worst sense of the word over the last 3 weeks but we finally got there! Yep, we’ve added Flash streaming video as a viewing option in the member’s area – and it’s true streaming at that. You can skip forward to any point in the film and it will play from that point onwards – you don’t have to wait for the entire film to buffer and load before being able to do so ;-)

There are around 250 out of our catalogue of 450 films now available to stream and we’re adding more all the time. Hopefully by the end of January the entire collection will be finished (it’s taking some time as each film is being made available in 3 different quality settings). You know me, I like to offer choice – so every film will then be available in Low, Medium and High Res versions as WMV, MP4 or Flash – not bad eh?

Anyway, there’s been plenty of other stuff going on of late too. My landlord finally paid me a visit to replace my horrible old bathroom and after a week he ran out of time and left without finishing it! It’s taken 3 weeks just to be able to have a shower (thanks to all the models for putting up with a bath!) but finally I’ve found a little man to come and finish it off! Talk about stress…

Meanwhile, in all of the chaos we’ve been frantically busy filming some really hot sex! Old and new faces certainly make this job interesting and we’ve had plenty of laughs and fun in recent weeks. Imagine... we just vanished, 15/11/09

I’ve pondered about posting this diary update for a couple of weeks now and I think I’m now totally justified in naming and shaming. But first, a little background info. Back in September I decided to move Hosting company – basically I had to move the site and all its content from one set of servers with “Host A” to a new set of servers with “Host B”. Everyone I spoke to warned me this would be tricky and complex – and to be fair it wasn’t the easiest thing to do!

That said, on Tuesday 27th September all was ready and I switched over the Domain Name Server records to point at our new servers. There were a few minor issues as one would expect but nothing serious… or so I thought. I’ll just quickly explain that DNS records provide the behind-the-scenes link to the server you are trying to reach using the site name rather than the direct IP address of the server. These DNS records are held all over the world by different companies and Internet Service Providers and can take up to 72 hours to update.

What this means is that during this period you can end up seeing the site on the old servers and not the new servers if your ISP hasn’t updated their DNS records. And here’s the issue. Tiscali, as of today, still haven’t updated their DNS records and so now, more than 6 weeks later Tiscali customers won’t be able to see this site. It will have effectively vanished for them. And they are the only Internet Service Provider to do this.

Now, many companies move hosting companies all the time so I wonder just how many other sites have now disappeared for Tiscali customers. I’ve contacted them to complain, my hosting company has done so and quite a few members have called them too. And still no resolution. So if, by chance, anyone reading this knows of someone senior working in Tiscali Technical Support then can you ask them to email me or fix the problem?

Meanwhile, I’ll just continue to make some cracking film updates to welcome back all those Tiscali customers. It’ll be like Christmas all over again when they finally fix their problem ;-) And we’re also working on a couple of “cum parade” vids that we’ll release as bonus updates over the next few weeks too!

The Manchester Episode, 08/11/09

It’s a funny old world. My dedicated assistant returned to Manchester this week to film a whole bunch of horny new guys and he came back with a corker of a story! Well, we finally got there! After months of delays and plenty of work I eventually managed to release our revised film pages this week. They now allow us to stream you Flash preview movies of our latest updates so I hope you enjoy the fruits of our continued labour ;-) Personally I think the changes have made the site feel a bit more “alive” and there are a few more enhancements coming over the next few months…

Just one thing – if you like what you see then can you PLEASE join and help pay for the changes?!?!? Nothing’s ever free in this world and we are in a recession ;-) Every time you watch a preview it adds to my bandwidth bill – and if you simply don’t spend just a little money from time to time then they’ll disappear… and you wouldn’t want that now, would you?

And if that’s not a good enough reason to join (aside from over 400+ exclusive films!) then I’ve got another for you. Eyes right… The film EVERYONE’s been waiting to see for the past 4 years is coming this Thursday – the lovely, big-dicked and totally straight Jason finally gave in and agreed to let another guy suck him off!!! So the weather in July was a TOTAL wash-out here in Plymouth. If it wasn’t for all of the gorgeous guys and beautiful cocks I get to film then I think I would have gone mad! But the weather’s about to change this week and things are looking good… REAL good ;-) I’m going to be one busy busy boy during the sunshine!
